Repurposing the Reservation Tool

The reservation tool is no longer required for tracking or making a reservation for court time for a time slot.

The reservation tool can still be used by members however to identify to other members that they plan to play at the club during a specific time slot. The tool has been renamed a registration tool and can be found under the “Before You Play” menu item on the website.

Many of our morning and afternoon scheduled time slots are currently not being utilized as they were prior to the pandemic.  We encourage members to utilize the reservation tool for these time slots to show their interest in playing so that other members will know that there will be others at the club to play with.

Contact Tracking for Public Health

WBC is required to track who has been utilizing the facility in case there is a need by Public Health to contact trace an individual who has been at the club.  We have been using the reservation tool and a log book at the club for this purpose,

We are changing this process to only use the log book from now on. The log book is on the table across fo the kitchen service window.

All players, spectators and contractors must sign the log book when entering the building.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Proof of Vaccination

As you may have heard, the Province of Ontario is now implementing aa proof of vaccination in order to access certain facilities and services.  This goes into effect on September 22, 2021 and includes the Woodstock Badminton Club as a facility that will require proof of double vaccination in order to access.  Specific details from the Ontario Province are as follows:

“To further protect Ontarians as the province continues to confront the Delta-driven fourth wave of the COVID-19, the government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, will require people to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of their vaccination status to access certain businesses and settings starting September 22, 2021. Requiring proof of vaccination in these settings reduces risk and is an important step to encourage every last eligible Ontarian to get their shot, which is critical to protecting the province’s hospital capacity, while also supporting businesses with the tools they need to keep customers safe, stay open and minimize disruptions.

As of September 22, 2021, Ontarians will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination along with government identification to access certain public settings and facilities. This approach focuses on higher-risk indoor public settings where face coverings cannot always be worn and includes facilities used for sports and fitness activities and personal fitness training, such as gyms, fitness and recreational facilities.

Individuals who cannot receive the vaccine due to medical exemptions will be permitted entry with a doctor’s note until recognized medical exemptions can be integrated as part of a digital vaccine certificate. Children who are 11 years of age and younger and unable to be vaccinated will also be exempted from these requirements.

Ontarians currently have access to a paper or PDF vaccine receipt that includes all relevant information to prove that they are fully vaccinated. As of September 22, Ontarians will be required to show their vaccine receipt when entering designated settings along with another piece of photo identification, such as a driver’s licence or health card. This is similar initial implementation approach announced in British Columbia.  Attached is a link to the website below:

All entry fobs will be deactivated for any members who have not provided this information by this due date, and they will only be provided access and reactivation of their Fob once acceptable proof of vaccination is provided to the WBC Board or our designated Opener (Mark Thompson).
