Membership

Annual members are entitled to play both Badminton and Pickleball. There are no court fees for members. They can play as often as they like. See the event schedule for times of play for each sport. Member may also utilize the courts when there are no events scheduled.

Annual members may join at any time throughout the year. A membership starts when payment is received and is valid for a year. Members must renew prior to the expiration of their membership for the following year.

Benefits of an Annual Membership

Annual members have unlimited play of both Badminton and Pickleball at scheduled times.

Annual members over 18 years of age, receive a key FOB which allows 24/7 access to the club.

Annual Members may also rent the club’s hall and courts at a discounted rate.

Annual Membership Types

Memberships are divided into the following types:

Family Membership is comprised of 1 or 2 parents or guardians and any number of children 17 years of age or under at the time of application. A family membership may also include adults between the ages of 18 and 25 who are single and in attendance full time in school.

Couple’s Membership consists of 2 adults who are 18 years of age or older, and are living in the same household at the time of application. A couple’s membership that has one or both members who are 55 and over is eligible for a senior’s discount.

Adult Membership consists of one person over 18 years of age. If the adult 55 and over is eligible for a senior’s discount.

Student Membership consists of one student a registered full time at a post secondary accredited institution up to the maximum age of 25.

Youth Membership consists of one student attending JK to Grade 12.

Social Membership is a non-playing member however this person is entitled to participate in club social events, volunteer as a club opener, run for office, and participate in fundraising activities.

Effective October 1, 2022

Adult (18 – 54 years): $370
Senior Adult (55 and over): $330
Family (2 adults and unlimited number of children): $700
Couple (2 Adults 18 – 54 years): $520
Senior Couple (55 and over): $470
Social (Full privileges except use of courts): $75
Student (18 – 25 yr. if registered full time as post-secondary student.): $255
Youth 5 – 18 years.: $220

Becoming a Member

To join our club, visit the club (at 310 Hunter St. Woodstock ON) when staff are on duty ( Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday evenings between 7 and 9). Fill out the computerized membership form, read & accept the liability waiver and pay your membership fees. Membership fees can be paid with cash, cheque, or debit (INTERAC only). Cheques should be made out to the “Woodstock Badminton Club“.

After you have registered, staff will provide you with an entry FOB and provide a short orientation.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND WAIVER OF CLAIMS AND LIABILITY AGREEMENT forms are available at the club or can be downloaded from the website (see below). Please note that ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND WAIVER OF CLAIMS AND LIABILITY AGREEMENT forms must be signed for each member when applying for a couple of family membership.

Renewing your Membership

Members will be notified by email prior to the their membership expiring. The email will contain an attachment with the information we have on file about your existing membership. Members renewing should review the report to ensure that the information of file is correct. If the information needs to be updated or the membership type is changing the member should notify the membership director at membership@woodstockbadmintonclub.org of the change.

To renew your membership, members are encouraged to send the club an etransfer, Etransfer should be sent to payments@woodstockbadmintonclub.org.

Members may also renew:

  1. In person at the club with cash, cheque, debit (INTERAC)
  2. By dropping off a cheque at the club by placing it into the mail box on the back of the kitchen door.

The Fine Print

Membership to the Woodstock Badminton Club is open to all residents of Ontario.

A member in good standing is one who has paid in full the required membership fees and has completed the membership agreement and waiver.

Membership fees are non-transferable and non-refundable. Exceptions may be considered by the Board in unusual circumstances on a case by case basis.

All annual members are encouraged to volunteer, run for office and participate in club activities.

Anyone under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who is 18 or over, at all times unless receiving lessons/coaching. Anyone age 15 – 17 may be present at the club without parental supervision.
