Where has the summer gone? It seems like it was only yesterday that the club suspended it’s regular season lessons on Wednesdays and Saturdays for the summer months.
Guess what? It is that time again when the club is back in full swing. The regular programming is back. And to kick off the start of another season of badminton and pickleball, next week is our annual Open House week. All scheduled sessions are FREE!, starting Monday September 19th and ending Sunday September 25th. Come out and enjoy a game of badminton or pickleball. Come to as many sessions as you like next week, it’s all free. Please check our calendar for times when the club is open.
Hope to see everyone on the courts.

Board of Directors for the 2016 – 2017 season
Let me start off by saying thank you to last year’s board members for their dedication, time and effort on behalf of the Woodstock Badminton Club. To Drew Fellowfield, past president, who for the last few years have given up his free time to help run the club even though he does not play. To Nancy Shaw, our secretary for the last number of years, who kept us all straight with her record keeping and have represented the club in a number of fairs and promotional events. To Miranda Rowntree, another board member who did not play, who looked after publicity and fundraising. She was also involved in putting out the newletters and updating the website. To Dana Wells, who spent countless hours doing maintenance in the facilities as well as coordinating pickleball activities. To Wendy Clements, our long time treasurer, who keeps our financials straight and also runs the Wednesday night round robin every week. To Robert Trowhill, our youth director who also accepted the position of vice president as well when Drew resigned, who not only spends countless hours organizing the youth program, you will also see Bob helping out at all the lessons on Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. To Carol Bossenberry who maintains our list of ever changing members and represents the club at promotional events.
Thank you. Your efforts have not gone unappreciated. And let us not forget about the numerous members who help out at events when called upon. Thank you.
Last year was a challenging year for the board. Two of our board members, Drew and Miranda, had to resign due to professional and personal commitments. This left the board with only 5 members to try and manage 11 positions. To this I say a big thank you for taking on more than your share of duties.

Still needing volunteers for next Sunday’s Rec & Leisure Fair
Hello WBC Members. We are still needing a few more volunteers for our table at the Rec & Leisure Fair next Sunday March 6th at Cowan Park. Set up begins after 12 noon and the fair runs from 1-4pm. Our club has been given a 15 minute demonstration period at 2pm to show off badminton & pickleball. If you are able to give an hour or two of your time next Sunday, that would be greatly appreciated! Please email: publicity@woodstockbadmintonclub.org if you are able to help us out. High school students who help out will receive community service hour credits. Many thanks!
