Ontario State of Emergency Closes Recreational Facilities

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has declared a state of emergency as the province tries to slow the spread of COVID-19.

“This is a decision not made lightly. COVID-19 constitutes a danger of major proportions. We’ve taken this measure because we must offer our full support in every power possible to help our health care sector fight the spread of COVID-19.”

Effective immediately, the province has ordered the closure of all facilities providing indoor recreation programs, all public libraries, all private schools, all licensed childcare centres, all theatres, cinemas and concert venues, and all bars and restaurants except to provide takeout food and delivery.

WOODSTOCK BADMINTON CLUB SPECIAL NOTICE March 16 th , 2020

Dear WBC Members:
In light of recent developments regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, the Board of Directors have
made the difficult decision to close the Badminton Club for the next 3 weeks for all activities
(adult and youth) effective Tuesday March 17 th .
We are taking these proactive measures to prioritize the health and well-being of all our
members, guests, and the community. As you may be aware, all Woodstock leisure and
recreation programs, March Break programming, Schools and Woodstock Curling Club have
been closed effective immediately. Our joint efforts in support of these closures are intended to
help slow the advance of this very infectious virus to ensure that our Health system infrastructure
does not become overwhelmed and citizens remain safe.
Please support this decision by remaining away from the WBC facilities and not accessing the
building with your fob for any reason until we reopen. We will continue to monitor this situation
and be guided by local, regional, and national health and government leadership. Reopening and
ongoing information will be advised via our Website www.woodstockbadmintonclub.org as well
as by email.
Please feel free to contact any members of the Board with any questions or concerns.
The Board would like to thank everyone for their understanding and support. We look forward
to successfully managing these unprecedented challenges and rejoining you on the courts as soon
as possible.

Sincerely,
Your WBC Board of Directors.
